Sempre più agenzie stanno chiarendo la propria posizione sul tema della submission elettronica. L'annuncio della agenzia Svedese evidenzia che dal 1 aprile 2009 sarà possibile fare submission elettroniche per tutti i tipi di procedura senza necessità di copie cartacee: "The MPA also plans to accept electronic-only for submissions also within the Mutual Recognition Procedure, the Decentralised Procedure and the National Procedure by 1 April 2009. This will be applicable to all submissions concerning applications for approval of marketing authorisation and all post-authorisation submissions for both human and veterinary medicinal products. Hence, submissions will by that time be accepted electronically in eCTD or NeeS format without accompanying papers. However, electronic submissions to the MPA will not be mandatory and paper submissions will still be accepted by the MPA also after the switch date."
